NY2NO is a completely student-run, student-led organization. That being said, the role of a chaperone on an NY2NO trip is different than on most trips. Chaperones take on much of the role of participants and observers, being involved in all activites with the group, including labor, canvassing, and debreifs, and follow the direction of the student organizers with the rest of the group. However, chaperones also provide the support that the organizers need, making sure that the group is safe and where they need to be at all times. Chaperones split up with the differnt groups during the day, so that everyone is supervised.
